EASTON To Acquire Montreal-Based Saw Sports
Easton Hockey, the industry leader in manufacturing technologically advanced hockey equipment, announced today that it has executed a definitive agreement to acquire Saw Sports, a Montreal, Canada-based company. Saw Sports is a world-renowned manufacturer of hockey protective gear including gloves, pants, shoulder pads, elbow pads, and goalie equipment as well as baseball gloves.
Saw Sports unique, proprietary hand-made hockey equipment will provide us a competitive advantage, and we expect to gain significant distribution synergies through the combined sales effort and product lines, said Ned Goldsmith, Vice President of Easton Hockey. This acquisition represents another step towards cementing Easton as the number one hockey brand among the NHLs elite players.
Under the terms of the agreement, Saw Sports, widely considered a full custom capability manufacturing shop, will become Easton Custom Products, and Guy Sawyer, Plant Manager will manage the facility and run the day-to-day operations. All of Saw Sports assets and employees are included in the deal, although financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. The transaction is anticipated to close in April of this year.
