GORGES Named Team WHL Captain
The Western Hockey League today announced that Josh Gorges of the Kelowna Rockets has been named captain of TEAM WHL for the 2003 RE/MAX Canada Russia Challenge Series.
The 19-year old from Kelowna, British Columbia has played four seasons with Kelowna, and is the captain of the Kelowna Rockets.
The assistant captains for TEAM WHL are 19-year old forward Kyle Brodziak of the Moose Jaw Warriors from Vegreville, Alberta, 19-year old Red Deer Rebels� defenceman Derek Meech from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and 19-year old forward Adam Courchaine of the Vancouver Giants from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Canada presently lead the series 2-0 after TEAM OHL won the first two games.
The RE/MAX Canada/Russia Challenge Series will be an integral part of the identification process for Canada's National Junior Team final selection camp. The series involves a total of six games across Canada.
All six games will be broadcast nationally on Rogers Sportsnet.
