Easton Sports Named Official Supplier Of Hockey Canada
Easton Sports, the industry leader in technologically advanced sports equipment, and Hockey Canada, governing body of the sport of hockey in Canada, today announced a partnership wherein Easton will become an official equipment supplier of Hockey Canada through 2008. Agreeing to a comprehensive four-year deal, Easton will be recognized as an Official Supplier to Hockey Canada, Team Canada, Canada’s National Hockey Teams as well as Hockey Canada’s High Performance teams in exchange for lead sponsorship positioning with Hockey Canada’s new Hockey Canada Week promotion targeted at minor hockey associations across Canada, according to Easton Sports Canada Chief Operating Officer Geoff Sadowy.
We are excited to continue our support at the grassroots level of hockey in Canada, said Sadowy. Hockey Canada creates a structured environment for hockey players, coaches and officials and Easton is proud to support such an invaluable organization. We feel Easton Sports and Hockey Canada represent the elite of our respective industries and share a parallel commitment to providing Canada with the best resources in order to enhance and develop the game. We look forward to a long-term partnership, enhancing the sport of hockey throughout Canada.
It is evident from watching hockey at all levels, from the NHL to local pick-up games, that Easton has become Canada’s premier hockey brand, adds Easton Sports CEO Tony Palma. We look forward to expanding this relationship over the next four years and watching Hockey Canada continue to dominate on the world stage.
For each of the last four seasons, an increasing number of NHL players are choosing the Easton brand with the Synergy stick leading the charge. In their drive toward the Stanley Cup, the best of the best are choosing the stick line; including key members of both of the 2003 Stanley Cup Finals teams including Patrik Elias, Jamie Langenbrunner and Scott Niedermayer of the champion New Jersey Devils, and Petr Sykora, Rob Niedermayer and Sandis Ozolinsh of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. In addition, future Hall of Famers Steve Yzerman, Peter Forsberg Scoring leader, Joe Sakic, Milan Hejduk, Jarome Iginla, Rocket Richard and Jeremy Roenick all used a number of sticks throughout their careers before choosing to play exclusively with Easton’s Synergy line.
